Suncrest II® IMPORTANT TIPS

Suncrest II Hair Replacements & Wigs represents over 40 years of “Hands On” experience in every style of Custom Made and Stock Men’s and Ladies hairpieces.

Providing Hair samples for your Hair Replacement order.
It is necessary to provide large hair samples taken from your existing hair when placing orders for hair replacements. Usually seven large samples must be provided if your hair is not the same color all over. If your hair is the same color all over it is only necessary to trim enough hair to fill one box on the order form.

To take Hair samples of your existing hair your existing hair is lifted in the area specified on the order form. Many small snips of your hair are cut at the scalp in that area next to the head using a sharp scissors. Take ten small hair snips – not cut in exactly the same place so the cuts will not be visibly missing when they are removed from that area of your head. Lay each snip on the box marked for that area on the order form till you have placed at least six snips in that same box. Please leave the hair at its full length with the root ends at the top of the box. When finished with that area, group all the snips together and place scotch tape over the top ends of that sample attaching it to the order form. You should have close to at least sixty full-length hairs in “each” box. Continue repeating this procedure until you have placed the color samples from each required area on your head in each box on the order form. More is better as large samples will insure the correct color hair replacement. Please leave the hairs their full length.
If you do not have any hair in the front, top or crown area, please select the color for “those” areas from those samples that you are able to provide. On the order from, indicate which samples should be used for non-existing samples using arrows from samples to empty sample boxes.

For further information please contact Suncrest-II with your name and phone number. One of our order technicians will call you at the number and time specified. Our hours of operation are 9 AM to 5:00 PM Eastern Standard time.
When you receive your order confirmation please note the invoice number. For better service please use this number when inquiring about your order.

Larger samples are better – as much as you can.

The hair must be clean. Dirty hair does not show its true color. If a shampoo is not possible or practical, clean the sample in cleaner before sending it in with your order.

If you wish uniform color throughout the unit and your hair is fairly uniform, take sample from both sides and back, mixing them together as you go.

For graying temples, take samples from each side and back, keeping them separate, and tape them at appropriate spots on the order form.

This method will protect the lace front from fraying indefinitely. Using the popular 3/4″ Red Liner Track Tape, cut the Red Liner Tape down the center creating many 3″ long strips 3/8″ wide. Place one cut of the Tape starting 1/2″ on to the polyurethane tape patch area where the lace front connects to it. Began laying the strip of the Red Liner tape (with the liner still attached) directly on the very front hairline of the lace edge. Press it firmly onto the lace. Continue placing strips all the way around the front pressing firmly as you go. As the tape strip will need to be cut a few times to make it conform to the arc of the front it will be necessary to overlap the Red Liner Tape slightly. Do this by peeling up the edge of the Red Liner next to the strip you are working with. Continue laying the strips until you have finished taping the entire front edge from side to side with the 3/8″ strips. Finish your final strip 1/2′ on to the Polyurethane area next to the lace front where it is attached on that side also. There must be no separations in this tape strip line.

You have now created a clear see through Red Liner tape Ribbon edge on the Lace front. This tape will stay on the edge for an extended period of time. It is not ever to be removed by the Customer. You are the only one that may remove this Tape. This will keep the clients coming back to you for service even if they do not wear their units permanently. You must tell them it has to be changed every 4-6 weeks.

After the red plastic covering the adhesive is removed from the tape it is applied directly to the scalp. This tape should stick well for a few days even if the unit is removed from the customer’s head. After it stops sticking the liquid tape is used to attach the Front Red Liner Tape to the forehead. Simply brush on a light coating to the existing Red Liner Tape. The original Red Liner Tape can never be removed by the customer. That tape will stay for as long as you and the customer are comfortable with it – sometimes as long as 3 months. The customer may carefully clean the interior side of the Red Liner with adhesive cleaner-remover at any time but never remove the tape itself.

Method of removing and replacing the front edge Red Liner Tape:

You will need a mineral base adhesive remover. One of the following:

  1. VM&P NAPHTHA (Oil Base Paint Thinner) from the hardware or Paint Store.
  2. Citrus Base Adhesive remover
  3. Any other aggressive Tape remover you are presently using.

When you feel it is time to replace the Red Liner tape please follow these steps. There are two ways to do it. Clean and wash the unit well in the regular manner. Dry the unit completely. One way is to now pour the VM&P Naphtha into a bowl. Place the entire Lace front into the Naphtha and allow it to soak for 3 minutes or longer. This should be long enough to loosen the glue holding the Red Liner Tape so it will fall away by itself. You may use a brush to hasten the process. When the tape has been removed clean any excess glue from the lace and use a blow dryer to dry the lace completely.

The second method is to place the unit on a Canvas Block and press the front firmly to attach it to the block. Using a Brush or Dauber, wet the Red Liner Tape with the Citrus base adhesive remover or the VM&P Naphtha from the top side through the hair. Keep wetting it until you can grasp the hair and lift the lace front from the tape easily. Do not peel it away. It must come away with the tape still attached to the block, Carefully clean any excess glue from the front Lace. Remove the remaining tape from the block and discard it.

You are now ready to re-apply another Red Liner Tape strip to the front and attach the unit to the customer’s head.

If the customer is cooperative this method will protect the lace Front indefinitely.
